A cozy Maine dinner celebration by the fire.
Last October, SHE / Luxe celebrated 5 whole years of business. To celebrate, we dressed up one of our favorite local venues and invited all of our closest vendor friends who have played such a big role in the accomplishment of 5 years {6, NOW!}.
Taking full advantage of having the beautiful space at Pepperrell Cove for the day, we used the first half to design a cozy, feast inspired tablescape around our “Duck” theme. {we will get into that later ;)} and do a full styled shoot table design sprinkled with dried florals, velvet linens and candlelight. Take a peak into what we created to get all the festive November design feels.
LET’S TALK THEMES
To celebrate who we are and what we do, we took a metaphoric approach and created a design and dinner around Ducks. No, not a rubber duck theme. A classy, chic take incorporating the idea behind the life of a duck. Take a second and imagine a family of ducks, calmly floating by; no worries in the world. Meanwhile, their little feet are flapping away under the surface holding them afloat. That is us; that is event planning. Calm on the surface, while strategizing, problem solving and working hard underneath.
Our guests each received a hand carved, painted duck with a fabric escort piece beautifully calligraphed by our girl, Ridgely Calligraphy, which led them in the direction of their table topped with a duck species name in place of a table number and feather accented place setting.
BRINGING THE OUTDOORS IN
One of our favorite trends is the concept of taking everything you love about a certain season, and bringing that inside; especially when New England weather turns too crisp to host an outdoor gathering. To play off the vibe from fall in Maine, we worked with F as in Flowers to create floral arrangements of dried greenery and blooms blended with fresh florals to emphasize the changing of the season that comes with the fall harvest. In addition to the florals, we used a cozy color palette with velvet linen textures and pops of gold to resemble the golden, crispy leaves falling from the trees.
FEASTING BY THE FIRE
Nothing says cozy like a sit down candle lit dinner by the fire. We love a venue with a fireplace that we can dress up! In fact, we hope you can take away some holiday inspiration from this to give your fireplace a little face lift for when you host your Thanksgiving dinner; {Grandma will love it}. Velvet textures, candlelight and throw pillows/blankets will never go out of style when it comes to cozying up in Maine.
